A girl who was snatched off a Fort Myers street by a Lehigh Acres man says she was put through a harrowing, two-day ordeal involving repeated sexual battery and thwarted escapes.

Elgron Lamar Taylor, 51, of Lehigh Acres, was arrested Saturday on kidnapping, battery and fleeing police charges related to the crime.

Taylor, who has a lengthy record dating to 1987 including arrests for aggravated battery, battery, burglary, petty theft, dealing in stolen property and drug possession, remains in Lee County Jail on no bond with a March 19 arraignment and a Thursday motion hearing.

An incident report from the Lee County Sheriff's Office revealed new details in the case.

The report said that the girl, unidentified other than being between 12 and 18, told deputies that she was on C Street in Fort Myers walking to a relative's house when Taylor pulled up in a black Kia, grabbed her by the hair and forced her into the car. The assault happened at 10 p.m. on Thursday.

The girl, who told deputies she is familiar with Taylor and recognized his car, said Taylor drove her to his home on Circle Drive in Lehigh Acres, where he put her into an attic area over a garage where there were three beds.

He then tied her up and sexually assaulted her Thursday night and into Friday morning, she said.

On Friday, the sheriff's office report said, Taylor put the girl in the trunk of his car and went to work.

The report said the girl managed to kick her way out of the truck into a back seat area but was discovered by Taylor and placed back into the trunk. Taylor drove her back to the house, she told deputies, and again sexually battered her.

She again escaped and jumped into a passer-by's vehicle, but Taylor dragged her out of the vehicle while the man was calling 911.

Taylor then tossed the girl into his Chevy work van and went to a wooded area near Cadet Avenue and School Lane in Lehigh Acres, where he was trying to tie her to a tree when sheriff's units arrived.

Deputies found the girl on the ground with her hands bound and black duct tape over her face, shoulders, chest, and ankles.

After a short vehicle chase, deputies arrested Taylor.
