The Fort Myers Police Department will hold a Silver Social at the Dr. Carrie D. Robinson Center Thursday night.
The event is open to the public for the opportunity to get to know the officers who police the community and vice versa, said Fort Myers police Lt. Jay Rodriguez.
The event begins at 6 p.m., he said. The format, he said, is like speed-dating, where residents can speak with different officers at a time.
"It's another one of many great opportunities to get out there and meet cops and meet the people that we work with," Rodriguez said.
The Dr. Carrie D. Robinson Center is located at 2990 Edison Ave, Fort Myers.
